City hopping from Seoul to Tokyo, Paris, Hong Kong and New York with photomontage artist Wing Chan.

Photomontage artist Wing Chan

Ep.13 | Wing Chan is a photomontage artist who works and lives in Hong Kong. After Wing talked about his background and how he began his art career we discussed his stories, inspiration and narratives behind Wing’s exhibition at the SHOUT gallery in Singapore. Wing’s solo exhibition of photomontages is until the 8th of June 2022.

Born in Hong Kong, Wing Chan left for the United States when he was 18 and had an award-winning career in commercial design in New York City. In 2011, Wing returned to his roots in Hong Kong to focus on his photography and photomontage. Chan uses photomontage for a wide range of artistic expression that is more grounded in the contemporary arts than in photography.

Although his art is two-dimensional, it transcends reality lending a great depth and movement to the work. Chan has held exhibitions of his photomontage work in Paris, Tokyo, Kyoto, Kobe, Seoul, Hong Kong, Bangkok, New York, and Singapore.
